The approaching Chhath festival has triggered a massive rush at railway stations and ISBTs as people head for their native villages. Railway stations are experiencing overwhelming crowds. Both general and sleeper compartments are witnessing severe congestion.

In compliance with a standing Calcutta High Court order, both Rabindra Sarobar lake and Subhas Sarobar lake will remain closed from Wednesday evening to Friday afternoon for Chhath, scheduled on Nov 7 and 8.

Railway stations at Anand Vihar and New Delhi are experiencing overwhelming crowds ahead of Chhath Puja festival, with trains bound for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar running at full capacity.

A leopard sighting at the Bihta Air Force station in Patna has led to the suspension of Chhath celebrations at a nearby temple. Authorities are monitoring the situation and assure residents that Chhath will be allowed if the leopard is captured.

East Central Railway has directed stations in the Dhanbad division to implement safety measures during Chhath Puja when devotees cross railway lines to reach Chhath Ghats. The caution period will last 20 hours, from 2pm on November 7 to 10am on November 8.

Bhojpur administration has declared three ghats – Bhaluhipur Chhath hat, Begampur Chhath ghat and Mirachak Chhath ghat – dangerous for performing Chhath puja in Ara. Officials inspected all the Chhath ghats in Ara Saturday night.

Altogether 105 Ganga ghats, 63 ponds and 45 parks in Patna have been prepared to facilitate the ‘vratis’ during the four-day Chhath festival starting on November 5.
