Similarly, the AQI at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium stood at 404 and at Dwarka Sector 8 at 403, all falling into the 'severe category'. On Tuesday morning, the AQI was recorded at 323 by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR-India).

The Air Quality Index delineates air quality status in easily comprehensible terms, converting intricate data on diverse pollutants into a singular numeric value (index value), terminology, and color. The AQI scale ranges from 0 to 500 or above, with 0-100 indicating good air quality, 100-200 as moderate, 200-300 as poor, 300-400 as very poor, and 400-500 or higher as severe.

Recently, following an amelioration in Delhi's air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) revoked the restrictions imposed under GRAP 4. This move permitted the entry of trucks and buses (except for BS-3 and BS-4 petrol and diesel vehicles) into the city and lifted the ban on ongoing construction activities.
