South African cricketer Chris Morris is quite literally in the middle of his Indian summer. The all-rounder, who plays for the

Delhi Daredevils

in the IPL, has been in the news for his big hitting prowess, courtesy a 9-ball 38 against Pune recently. Morris arrived in Delhi with the Delhi side to take part in Delhi's first two home games of this IPL. We caught up with the cricketer at an event where he talked about feeling at home in Delhi, travelling in the Delhi Metro, and dealing with the heat in the summers.

Starting last year, the Delhi Daredevils side has always travelled to train at the

Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium

in the Delhi Metro, as a team-building and time-saving exercise. Chris says, "The Metro ride is fun. It saves you from the Delhi heat a bit. Last year, it was something new, but now it has become a part of the journey through Delhi for us. I guess it makes the boys feel more of a local." Talking of the heat, Chris says that although the mercury continues to soar, he has stopped minding it now. "Look, it's India. It's always hot here. It's part of a package deal. You get great food but also a lot of the sun. It has stopped bothering me now," says Chris.

Playing for Delhi, Chris spends half his time during the IPL in the city and the Pretoria-born says he has come to consider himself a part of the city. He tells us, "When I reached the hotel for the first time this year, I felt as if I'd never left. You develop a bond with the city. It's a great place with swanky malls and great golf courses. As someone who likes to play a round or two to relax, it's the perfect place."
