Bomb threat

Panic gripped schools in Delhi and adjoining areas of Noida after receiving bomb threats via email on Wednesday morning.

Bomb threat via email

As per police officials, the schools which received the bomb threat include DPS Noida in Sector 30, DPS in Sector 122 and DPS in Knowledge Park 5, Greater Noida.

Classes suspended

Noida Police said that classes have been suspended in DPS, Noida and police force has been deployed.

Delhi Public School


Mother Mary School at Mayur Vihar, Delhi Public School at Dwarka, Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Delhi Public School at Vasant Kunj, Amity School in Saket and Delhi Public School (DPS) in Noida Sector 30 are among the schools that received bomb threats via email.

60 calls


Director of Delhi Fire Services, Atul Garg says, "We received around 60 calls about bomb threats in schools. We immediately sent fire tenders and fire tenders have started returning from some schools because nothing has been found and I think all the calls will turn out to be hoax.”

"We've checked all the schools and nothing has been found, there is no need to panic," Devesh Kumar Mahla, DCP New Delhi.

Spam mail

Some principals claim that it's spam mail sent by dissatisfied members of a parents' group potentially disappointed by unresolved issues in the school's functioning, they argue that such hoax bomb threats have become rampant in the last couple of months, disrupting school hours and creating extreme panic among parents and students.

Delhi LG VK Saxena tweets

"Spoke to the Police Commissioner and sought a detailed report into the bomb threats at schools in Delhi-NCR. Directed Delhi Police to carry out a thorough search in school premises, identify the culprits & ensure there are no lapses. I request the parents not to panic and co-operate with the administration in ensuring safety of schools and the children. The miscreants & culprits will not be spared," Delhi LG VK Saxena wrote on X.

No need to panic: Delhi minister Atishi

"Some schools have received bomb threats today morning. Students have been evacuated and those premises are being searched by Delhi Police. So far nothing has been found in any of the schools". "We are in constant touch with the Police and the schools. Would request parents and citizens not to panic. School authorities will be in touch with parents wherever needed," tweets Delhi minister Atishi.

MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) says there is no need to panic. It appears to be hoax call. Delhi Police and security agencies are taking necessary steps as per protocol.
