NEW DELHI: Rolling out its election
campaign for the
Lok Sabha elections
in Delhi,
BJP has planned public meetings on March 24 and 26 in the seven parliamentary constituencies.
Delhi BJP general secretary Rajesh Bhatia said senior BJP leaders, including some Union ministers, will address the ‘Vijay Sankalp Sabha’ “to make people aware of the achievements of the Modi government at the Centre, to expose the failures of the AAP government in Delhi, and the lies behind the grand alliance”.
“There will be three public meetings on March 24 in North West Delhi (in Mongolpur Khurd), South Delhi (Khanpur) and Chandni Chowk (Rani Bagh) parliamentary constituencies while rallies in North East (Yamuna Vihar), East (Nirman Vihar), West (Uttam Nagar) and New Delhi (Karol Bagh) areas will be held on March 26,” Bhatia said.
Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Rajnath Singh and Harsh Vardhan will address the people in New Delhi, North East and East Delhi areas. Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari will accompany Singh in his constituency. Party spokesperson Sambit Patra, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Jain and party’s co-in charge for

elections in Delhi Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya will address the meetings in South Delhi, North West Delhi and Chandni Chowk parliamentary constituencies respectively, Bhatia said.
Bhati said BJP has organised these public meetings in all 262 parliamentary seats it won in 2014. “While there will be an intensive campaign later this month and in April in the run up to the
elections
in Delhi, the meetings in seven constituencies will set the momentum,” said Bhatia.
Polling for the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi will take place on May 12. He added that the party has already run an information and advertising campaign about the public meetings to ensure the presence of a large number of people.
Senior BJP leaders said candidates of the 2015 Delhi assembly elections, municipal councillors and other party office-bearers have been told to be present in the meetings in their respective areas.
