Atishi launches crowdfunding campaign for polls
New Delhi: Chief minister Atishi, who is the AAP candidate from Kalkaji, on Sunday launched a crowdfunding campaign to contest the Delhi assembly polls.
She expressed hope that people would support her party's politics of work and honesty.
At a press conference, Atishi released an online link for people to donate money, stating she needed Rs 40 lakh to fight the elections. AAP has always fought elections with the help of small donations from the common man, she said.
"Despite being in power in Delhi for 10 years, AAP does not have even a rupee of corruption. We will contest the polls with the support of the people of Delhi and the country, as was done in the previous elections," she said, when asked about BJP's claim that the CAG projected a loss of Rs 2,026 crore due to Delhi govt's now-scrapped excise policy.
Targeting BJP, Atishi said: "Perhaps they have collected enough money from their friends and through govt contracts, and they do not need to collect funds for contesting elections."
Atishi, who is seeking re-election from Kalkaji, is pitted against former MP and BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri. Congress women's wing head Alka Lamba is also contesting too.
In Dec, senior AAP functionary and party candidate from Jangpura, Manish Sisodia, launched a crowdfunding platform and sought financial support from people for his poll campaign.
The 70-member assembly goes to polls on Feb 5, and the results will be announced on Feb 8.

Why public should contribute to AAP ? They seek contribution from public for election and if they win, permission to do more scam. An honesty leader and party never ask donation from public provided the party had good service to the people. Honest leader need not campaign in the constituencies because voters know their service rendered to the people. Read allPost comment
