Squad for Women T20 tournament announced

: Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) announced the squad for the first three matches of the Women's Senior T20 Trophy on Thursday. The tournament is set to commence from October 14. The selection has been done on the basis of the performance at the recently-concluded camp organised by the CAU, said the officials. The squad for the remaining matches will be based on the performance of the first three games.

Here is the squad for first three matches – Sunita Madhwal (C), Anju Tomar, Kanchan Parihar, Preeti Bhandari, Mamta Kothiyal, Megha Saini, Neha Mehta, Manisha Pradhan, Radha Chand, Raghvi Bisht, Rekha, Sapna Chaudhary, Sapna Rani, Amish Bahukhandi, Rashmi Rai.

Uttarakhand will be playing its first match on October 14 against Manipur. All Uttarakhand matches will take place in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Meanwhile, Chandigarh defeated Mizoram by 10 wickets at Kasiga School Cricket Ground in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. Mizoram got bundled out for just 87 runs. Chandigarh chased the target within 13 overs losing no wickets. In the second match of the day, Puducherry defeated Arunachal Pradesh by nine wickets at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy. Arunachal Pradesh had set a target of 180 runs which was easily chased by Puducherry, thanks to Arun Karthik who scored an unbeaten 86 runs off just 68 deliveries. In the last match of the day, Assam defeated Sikkim by seven wickets at the Tanush Cricket Academy. Assam’s spinner Roshan Alam, who clinched five wickets, became the star of the match. Due to his performance, Assam was able to restrict Sikkim at 176 runs. Assam chased the target with 13 overs to spare.
