“Lok Sabha polls in 2014 and Bihar elections are living examples,” said Adityanath, while addressing an election rally at Bapu Gram near Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited (IDPL) in Rishikesh.
The BJP MP also slammed the Congress party, which “opposed” the creation of Uttarakhand, for allegedly coming in the way of its development, rather than facilitating it.
Yogi charged the Congress-led state government with delaying implementation of projects such as AIIMS by several years. “Atal Bihari Vajpeyee formed the state. He gave an AIIMS to it, and came here to inaugurate it. But it took 10 years to start this prestigious institution mainly due to the Congress,” he said.
“Development is not in sync with the Congress culture. The party will be wiped out of Uttarakhand for the grave injustice that it meted out to the state,” Yogi said.
“The state lags behind the other two states, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh which were created along with it, despite plentiful of natural resources and four famous Hindu shrines (Chaar Dham) endowed to it. The Congress alone is responsible for it,” he added.
