In pics: Poll officials brave harsh weather to reach booths in Uttarakhand

Undaunted by the cold wave conditions, poll officials are reaching their designated polling stations ahead of assembly elections in Uttarakhand.

Roughly 35 polling parties were dispatched three days before the date of polling and 1,442 polling parties two days before the date.

In many areas, polling teams trekked a distance of about 10 to 15 kilometres.

Out of the 35, 18 polling parties were for Dharchula in Pithoragarh district and 17 for Uttarkashi district.

The polling party for Government Higher Secondary School, Dumak in Badrinath assembly constituency in Chamoli would trek a distance of 20 km.
