Roorkee: Four men, including three students and a staff member from IIT-Roorkee, succeeded in reaching 5,289m Friendship Peak (FP) summit of the Himalayan range. FP is located in the largest range of Himalayas, the Pir Panjal, close to Manali in Himachal Pradesh. The IIT-R had sent a group of 18 members, including 17 students, for the expedition of FP last month. The expedition was planned and conducted by the Himalayan Explorers' Club (HEC) of the institute to commemorate the institution's 175th anniversary and HEC's 51st. The crew was led by Ankit Dudi and Omkar Tiwari, both undergraduate students at IIT Roorkee and expedition leaders at HEC. Among the team members, there were two women. Tapan Susheel
