, lack of awareness and proper sanitation have contributed significantly to the spurt in dengue cases. Majority of cases in Haridwar have surfaced from Roorkee (16), Padli Gujjar village (10), Rampur (2), Salimpur (2) and Teliwala (2). Confirming the rise in dengue cases in the district, chief medical officer Dr Prem Lal said, “We have conducted fogging and spraying of larvicides in over 4,000 houses. We are also spreading awareness among locals about ways to check the spread of the disease.”
