Dehradun: The Union finance ministry has approved the ambitious proposal of the Uttarakhand government for the holistic development of Tehri Lake and its catchment area with the help of multilateral development banks.
The state government will get financial assistance from Asian Development Bank and BRICS Development Bank for the project.
Under this project, Koti Colony, New Tehri, Tiwari village, Dobra Chanti, Tehri Lake and Madan Negi area will be developed as clusters. Besides, facilities like -- water sports centers at four places in Tehri Lake, construction of tent colony, construction of tourism road from Koti Colony to Dobra-Chanti, construction of home stay clusters, Dobra Chanti park, multi-level car parking, integrated information center, entertainment complex, aquatic complex, 3-star boutique hotel, bio-diversity park, yoga & panchakarma centre, ropeway construction, a massive plantation in the coastal area and light & sound laser show have been proposed under the project.
