Lake around 3am, the speeding car hit the concrete slab on the road shoulder on Ukkadam-Sungam bypass road and overturned. While Kaushik succumbed to his injuries on the spot, his friends escaped with injuries,” the officer said.When alerted, the traffic investigation wing (east) police rescued the injured people and sent them to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital. The body of Kaushik was also sent to the same hospital for postmortem.“The vehicle was removed from the road with the help of a crane to restore traffic movement,” the officer said.Based on a complaint lodged by one of the injured persons, the traffic investigation wing (east) police have registered a case and launched an inquiry into the incident.
