Tourist dies by suicide at Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: A 29-year-old youth died by suicide at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore district on Sunday evening.Police identified the deceased as T Karthi, 29, from Viluppuram district. He was residing in Coimbatore for about one year and was working as an excavator operator.The incident came to light after Alandurai police were informed about a man found injured near the car parking exit of the Isha Yoga Centre. When police personnel reached the spot, they found a man lying in a pool of blood with severe head injuries. The 108 ambulance service personnel who were called to the scene, declared him dead after an examination.Subsequent enquiry revealed that he was visiting the Isha Yoga Centre as a tourist. During investigation, police examined CCTV camera footage available in and around the area. The footage showed the man climbing onto the roof of a power room located within the premises and subsequently jumping off the roof.The findings of the postmortem examination, coupled with the CCTV camera evidence, suggest that the man died after intentionally jumping off the elevated structure. His body was later handed over to his relatives after the postmortem.Alandurai police are investigating further to establish the cause of suicide.
