Rotten eggs at government school: Headmaster transferred

Noon meal coordinator suspended

ordered the transfer of a panchayat union middle school headmaster, sent a deputy block development officer to vacancy reserve and placed the noon meal centre coordinator under suspension for distributing rotten eggs to the school students on Monday.

Soon after the news broke, education officials rushed to the school to examine the eggs. They found several of them rotten.

The collector placed the noon meal coordinator Shakeela under suspension. There are about 250 students studying in the school in Tiruttani and about 140 students take noon meal every day. Meanwhile, a statement issued by state social welfare minister V Saroja, said, "There has been no slackness in provision of eggs to students."
