RK Nagar bypoll: Panneerselvam faction promises to change fate of Kodungaiyur dumpyard, to set up an industrial park there
CHENNAI: A garbage incinerator replacing Kodungaiyur garbage dumpyard, an industrial park in the dumpyard area and a mobile MLA office are some of the 108 promises in the manifesto of the O Panneerselvam faction of the AIADMK -- AIADMK (Puratchithalaivi Amma) -- for the on April 12 R K Nagar byelection.
The manifesto was released by former chief minister O Panneerserlvam at a make-shift party office at Old Washermenpet on Thursday. Senior leader E Madhusudanan, who is the AIADMK (Puratchithalaivi Amma) candidate for the byelection, received the first copy.

“The mobile MLA office will have three people in it, and they will be experts in information technology. The vehicle will visit each area a day and collect petitions from people and help them get ration and Aadhaar cards. We will also give feedback and updates on the petitions given by the residents,” said Pandiarajan.
The manifesto promises to complete the construction of a college building in R K Nagar. The manifesto promises to open a new higher secondary school in the constituency.
“We will set up job-oriented training institutes in the constituency so that school children will be enthused to further their studies,” said Pandiarajan.
The manifesto promises to launch a mobile app, called MyRKNagar. People can download the app on to their smartphones and file complaints using it.
The manifesto promises to set up five public libraries in the constituency and also to upgrade roads in several areas.
The OPS faction criticised the manifesto released by its rival group headed by T T V Dhinakaran. “They have promised to construct 55,000 houses in R K Nagar. There are 55,800 households the constituency, and at least 10,000 of the households live in their own houses. Does it not show that the promise has been made without any basis?” Pandiarajan said.

will be segregated. Non-degradable garbage will be put into an incinerator and pushed underground. The land will be levelled and an industrial park will be set up.
