NEET impersonation: Dharmapuri medical college student surrenders before Salem court

SALEM: Mohammed Irfan, a first year MBBS student at

Dharmapuri

District Government Medical College who is accused of

NEET impersonation

, surrendered before a judicial magistrate in

Salem

on Tuesday morning. He has been remanded in judicial custody till October 9.

Irfan had been on the run since September 7 after a Theni Government Medical College student was accused of NEET impersonation. Like the Theni student, Irfan too is accused of using an impersonator to write NEET.

The CB-CID police arrested Irfan’s father Mohammed Rafi alias Raja, 46, of Vaniyambadi in Vellore district on September 29.
