NCC shooting champs honoured by sports minister Udhayanidhi Stalin

Chennai: Sports minister Udhayanidhi Stalin felicitated the NCC contingent of 66 cadets of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, who participated at Inter-Directorate Sports Shooting Competition and the 49th State-Level Sports Shooting competitions.

The cadets won a total of 75 medals (17 gold, 22 silver and 36 bronze). The minister appreciated their efforts.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by commodore S Raghav, the deputy director general of NCC directorate (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar).

Manu Bhaker became the first female Indian shooter to win an Olympic medal at the Paris Games, securing a bronze in the 10m air pistol. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted the program's impact in developing athletes like Bhaker.

BJP state chief K Annamalai responded, suggesting DMK ministers debate the topic. He mentioned DMK law minister S Regupathy had called Lord Ram a champion of social justice.
