Madhya Kailash brings mixed relief

The Madhya Kailash flyover has improved traffic flow toward the IT corridor, cutting signal delays. However, complaints about uneven surfaces soon after opening have raised concerns over ride quality, turning the spotlight on construction standards.

2/7

Anna Salai upgrade in phases

The Anna Salai flyover extension is progressing in stages, with partial stretches open and more under construction. While it offers some relief, ongoing work, diversions and narrowed lanes continue to slow traffic in one of the city’s busiest corridors.

3/7

T Nagar flyover alters traffic flow

The T Nagar link has changed movement patterns in a crowded commercial hub, reducing travel time for through traffic. While peak-hour congestion has eased on main routes, inner roads still face heavy traffic, especially during weekends and festive rush.

4/7

Velachery next in line

A major flyover project is planned for Velachery Main Road, aiming to tackle chronic congestion in a dense residential and commercial zone. The project is expected to improve connectivity toward Guindy and the IT corridor for thousands of commuters. (AI image)

5/7

Pedestrian safety under focus

Flyover construction, especially along OMR, has disrupted pedestrian movement with removal of foot overbridges. Temporary safety measures are in place, but the situation highlights the need to better integrate pedestrian infrastructure into future projects. (AI image)

6/7

Flyover boom reshapes commutes

Chennai is witnessing a rapid flyover expansion, with new elevated corridors rising across key roads. These projects are already easing congestion at major bottlenecks, promising faster travel and fewer stops for lakhs of daily commuters navigating the city. (AI image)

Expanding network boosts mobility

Chennai’s growing flyover network is steadily improving traffic flow across key corridors. With multiple projects underway and more planned, the city is set to offer smoother, faster and more predictable commutes for a large number of daily road users.

All these infra push should have taken place 20 years back, city is lagging behind Hyd, Blore, in all aspacts, there is no proper platform in the main roads, government says they have spent 20000Cr in the last 20 years, but visibly there is no improvement, where are the funds gone, no body bothers about it
