Man drives car into wall, cop injured

Chennai: A head constable in the passenger seat of a car involved in a vehicle check suffered injuries after the driver rammed it against the wall in Thiruvanmiyur on Tuesday night.Police said head constable Dharman, 45 of Thiruvanmiyur noticed a car hit a biker and intercepted the vehicle at Kamarajar Nagar junction. The driver of the car was identified as Prashanth, 40 of Thiruvanmiyur.Dharman got into the vehcile and asked Prashanth to park it by the side of the road. However, the driver stepped on the accelerator and the vehicle rammed into the compound wall of a marriage hall near the checkpoint. Dharman suffered injuries on his legs and has been hospitalised. He is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Nandambakkam. tnn
