Hailstorm lashes parts of Vellore, Tiruppattur districts of Tamil Nadu

VELLORE: An unexpected hailstorm brought cheers to the people in a few villages in Vellore and Tiruppattur districts of Tamil Nadu who faced hardships over the last few days due to the searing summer heat.

Vellore district registered more than 43 degrees of Celsius while Tiruppattur district more than 38 degrees of Celsius in the last few days.

The weather changed drastically to the surprise of many in Ambur and Mathanur and neighbouring villages in Tiruppattur district on Thursday. Black clouds started hovering over Ambur, Mathanur and neighbouring villages. Soon a hailstorm lashed the villages.

The storm brought down the temperature bringing joy to one and all. The storm lasted more than 15 minutes.

Hailstorms lashed Gudiyatham, Melalathur, Kothakuppam and neighbouring villages, as well.
