CHENNAI: Five days, fifty events, five hundred participant colleges and footfalls crossing fifty thousand — there’s a reason why IIT-Madras’ annual cultural festival is one of the biggest student-run programmes in the country.
Saarang, brought to you by The Times of India, begins from January 6 and promises artistes not only from across the country but all around the globe.

It will continue till January 10. The Classical Nite on day 1 will have Amjad Ali Khan enthralling the audience with his sarod.
Though Chennai has ushered the New Year with new hopes after the recent flood, the organisers of Saarang are not ready to forget the disaster. They hope this year’s Saarang would reflect the fighting spirit of the city. Cultural affairs secretary PBR Krishna Koushik said there will be fund raising events and they wanted to renovate schools affected by flood.
