“Presidency College still is one of the best colleges to study basic science programmes such as physics, chemistry and botany, along with Loyola College. We have the best lab facilities since the British period. All faculty members hold PhDs,” said R Raman, principal. “The college also provides hostel facilities for more than 2,000 students, which is another major attraction,” he said. The college also ensured several co-curricular activities.
Govt Arts College in Nandanam has received more than 25,000 applications this year so far for 1,430 seats.
“After converting it into a co-education college two years ago, we are receiving more applications. Availability of more courses and the location are other attractions,” said D Thangarajan, principal of Govt Arts College, Nandanam.
