CHENNAI: DMK general secretary Duraimurugan on Monday urged party workers and functionaries to ensure candidates of alliance parties won by a huge margin in the May 10 Karnataka election. Duraimurugan also announced that as the DMK would be completing two years in office, public meetings would be organised for three days, starting May 7, to highlight the important schemes launched in the last two years since the formation of the government.

In a statement, Duraimurugan asked party cadres and functionaries to work closely with alliance parties. He urged them to form election teams to make the candidates of secular progressive alliance win by a huge margin.

Meanwhile, TNCC chief K S Alagiri, in a statement, criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent speech in Karnataka. "Unable to tolerate Congress forming the government again in Karnataka, Modi has accused the earlier Congress government of taking 85% of funds as commission and spending only 15% for the public. It is not right for a person of his stature to make such baseless allegations," said Alagiri.
