Educational institutions should promote sports: Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi

CHENNAI: Governor R N Ravi, while felicitating 65 eminent sports persons from Tamil Nadu for their remarkable performance in Olympics, Paralympics, Chess Olympiad, Common Wealth Games and Kehlo India Youth Games-2022 at Raj Bhavan on Sunday, said that the universities and other educational institutions should promote sports among students to energise youth to conquer many heights in the next 25 years to place India atop in the arena of sports by 2047. Mariyappan Thangavelu, C A Bhavani Devi, and Joshna Chinnappa were among the sportspersons felicitated at the event, in which Deputy President, FIDE and Grand Master Viswanathan Anand was the special guest. tnn
