Couple going to pick up their new bike killed after private college bus hits them near Velachery
Chennai: A couple on their way to pick up their newly purchased bike from the showroom concerned were hit by a private college bus near Velachery on Thursday night. While the woman died on the spot, the man died of injuries on Friday morning. The bus driver is absconding.Surender, 38, a resident of Tiruchengodu, and his wife Akalya, 36, who were residing in Velachery, were on their way to the showroom in Mayilai Balajinagar area to pick up their new motorcycle. When they were near the showroom, a private college bus hit them from behind. Akalya suffered severe injuries in the accident and died instantly.Passersby took them to a nearby private hospital where Surender died on Friday morning of the injuries he suffered.Police personnel regigistered a case and are searching for the driver of the private college bus.
