Annamalai stopped, detained

BJP state president K Annamalai was detained by Chennai police at Akkarai junction near Neelankarai while heading to Egmore for a protest against the alleged TASMAC scam.

Police intercept Annamalai’s car

As Annamalai left his residence, police stopped his vehicle. After brief negotiations, he was taken into custody and escorted from the spot in a private vehicle.

Pon Radhakrishnan arrested

Senior BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan was arrested at Egmore while participating in the protest.

Tamilisai stopped from joining protest

Former governor Tamilisai Soundararajan was stopped outside her house in Saligramam as she attempted to join the protest. Police had been stationed outside her residence since 7 am.

Karu Nagarajan also held

BJP state deputy president Karu Nagarajan was arrested outside his house, with police blocking the residences of several BJP leaders.

BJP leaders under watch

Chennai police deployed teams outside the homes of BJP state and district office-bearers from early morning to prevent them from reaching the protest site.

Protesters detained in halls

The arrested BJP leaders and workers were moved to a marriage hall and a community hall in the city.

Most of the states wjere liquor sale is legal and business is done thru distributers Karnataka,,, Kerala the ruling party men loot thru excise collected from drunkards or state like TN whee govt diatruted liquor to drunkards ecsice collecton is looted by ruling party ... no party in any state is an exception to liquor related loot...where thusands of crore are looted... TN is no exception... It is very sad in a ppor country ;ole ours so much is looted by rulinfg party members. Only GOD should punish these political party men who are ruing the life of poor families while women and children suffer... there may be exceoption where women to drink... may be of the comsumers of liquor hardly 1 to 2% are liquor drinkers... So only non drinkers can pray god to get rid of craving for liquor for the drunkards... Mera Bharath Mahan...
