CHENNAI: AIADMK’s Coimbatore candidate Singai G Ramachandran participated in the ‘kundam’ (fi re walk) festival at Sri Bannariamman temple near Singanallur in Coimbatore and walked on a bed of burning coal, along with scores of devotees.

Ramachandran performed the ritual praying for victory in the Lok Sabha election. He then walked through residential areas in the locality, accompanied by SInganallur MLA K R Jayaram, and sought votes. Earlier, Ramachandran demanded an apology from BJP’s K Annamalai who alleged that he had managed to get a seat in PSG College of Technology under a ‘quota.’

Rebutting the charge, Ramachandran said that it was ‘saddening’ that Annamalai was spreading ‘falsehood.’ Ramachandran said that BJP can neither win in Coimbatore nor in any of the 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu.
