'We too would have remained unaware': Haryana minister credits PM Modi for raising awareness on fetal gender determination

JIND: Haryana cabinet minister Krishan Bedi stated that before 2015, the nation was unaware of fetal gender determination. People had the legal right to abort daughters in the womb. It was openly advertised in many places for fetal gender testing.

However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised awareness about the importance of daughters in the country. “If the Prime Minister had not spread awareness about this, we too would have remained unaware of it,” he said.

Krishan Bedi was speaking today at the Constitution Respect Ceremony held at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University in Jind. “The Prime Minister launched the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign from Panipat district in Haryana when I was holding the social justice and empowerment portfolio. We were all unaware of fetal gender determination. However, Modi’s mission brought a positive change in the nation,” he added.

Speaking about the Delhi election, Bedi said that the people of Delhi have become disillusioned with Arvind Kejriwal. In the upcoming elections, the BJP is determined to win, and the people of the national capital will elect the BJP with a clear majority. Kejriwal has always misled the people, claiming that the Delhi government is helpless due to the intervention of the Centre, but the truth is that Kejriwal is filled with corruption.

More than half of his ministers are in jail, and Kejriwal himself has been to jail. He has been fooling the people from day one. Therefore, people have made up their minds to elect the saffron party’s government this time, he added.

Replying to a query about BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli, who is accused in a gang rape case along with singer Rocky Mittal (Jai Bhagwan), Bedi said that the Haryana government is investigating the matter and the facts will soon be clear.

However, Badoli’s family is seeking a CBI probe into the matter. Opposition party leaders who are attacking the BJP on this issue should address their own matters rather than playing a blame game, he added.
