Unite against BJP, Sukhu urges regional parties
Chandigarh: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Thakur on Tuesday urged all regional parties to join the campaign against the high handedness of the Narendera Modi-led BJP government at the Centre. Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from Lok Sabha, he said if it could happen to a leader of a national party, regional parties need to consider it seriously.
The Himachal CM said Rahul Gandhi comes from a family which made supreme sacrifice for this nation.

“Rahul Gandhi represents Congress ideology of sacrifice and tolerance... He was never in the race for the Prime Minister’s post,” he said at a press conference here. Sukhu was accompanied by HPCC president Udai Bhan and deputy leader of opposition Aftab Ahmed.
He alleged that the issue was largely related to questions raised on Adani-Modi relationship and the Rs 20,000 crores invested into shell companies. “As of now, Rahul ji is the only person who has fearlessly opposed Modi and his wrongdoings. Today, they have disqualified him and then asked him to vacate his official bungalow. But, this will not deter him or the Congressmen (from raising questions),” he added.
Sukhu claimed Congress’s growing popularity after the Bharat Jodo yatra has also made the BJP leaders apprehensive and they are resorting to using all kinds of tools like ED, income tax, CBI and other agencies against their political opponents before elections. tnn
