CHANDIGARH: Releasing a list comprising 14 more names on Sunday, Swaraj India has so far announced 40 candidates for the Haryana assembly elections scheduled on October 21.

While airing the fresh names, Swaraj India's executive president Ajit Jha said the party had maintained its selection criteria strictly. "None of the candidates selected - by a three-member panel - is from a financially influential family or has any political background," he said.

Accompanied by its Haryana chapter president Rajiv Godara, Jha also flayed chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar over unemployment and figures related to bajra and mustard procurement. Jha said Swaraj India is dedicated to maintain its commitment to bring change in the political scenario of the state. It believes in fair-play, he added.

"We have decided to raise the issue of unemployment as a major election plank. We will take up the grim situation of joblessness and urge voters to demand their right of employment from every candidate," he added. He claimed that Swaraj India would soon launch an alternative employment plan for youths.
