Strict monitoring of election process in Kaithal district
KAITHAL: Ahead of Lok sabha polls, Kaithal district officials claimed that all preparations have been made to conduct free and fair election to be held on May 25 in Haryana. Deputy commissioner Prashant Pawar said that people with disabilities and those who are above the age of 85 may cast their vote from home.
Officials deputed on election duty will perform their duties to provide a relief to needy persons on this occasion. People with disabilities and above the age of 85 may contact to election office set up in the secretariat and fill the consent form for casting their votes from homes. Teams will be formed to ensure the excercise of their votes once data is received from the different areas of the Kaithal district. Officials decided to launch this service so that such persons may not face any problem while casting their votes by visiting at poll centres, said DC.
He added that model code of conduct has come to fore now and political leaders must ensure to follow the guidelines issued by election commission of India else action would be taken and flying squas, surveillance teams have been deployed in field. One may file nomination paper till May 6 and officials will investigate these documents on May 7. Candidates may withdraw their nomination papers on May 9 and voting will be done on May 25 and counting will be carried out on June 4.
There are four assemblies in Kaithal district such as Kaithal, Pundri, Kalayat and Guhla comprising 8,11623 voters in total. Out of total voters, there are 4,27914 make voters and women voters are 3,83698 besides 11 transgender in the four assemblies. Officials set up 807 polling centres out of which 96 are considered sensitive 6 kept in highly sensitive zone, he said.
Further DC said that officials will keep a tab on financial transactions in the district. A control room will be set up at district headquarters which will be connected with a toll free number 1950 anyone may lodge their complaints round the clock, he added.
