Trade with Pakistan came to a halt following the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, which led to imposition of a 200% customs duty on imports from the neighbouring country. The trading community has been advocating for the restoration of normal trade relations with Pakistan, especially since India has not severed diplomatic ties with the country.
Claiming that people were seeking change, Tharoor said the only transformation over the years has been not Hindutva but “Moditva.” Regarding the real estate sector, Tharoor slammed the policies made over the last 10 years, stating that they were influenced only by a few large corporations despite the real estate being relevant to small businesses across cities and towns.
