The high death rate is expected to continue in the coming days as 213 patients in critical condition are on

ventilator support

oxygen support

As many as 21 deaths were reported in Ludhiana, 16 in Sangrur, 13 each in Amritsar and Bathinda, 12 in Mohali, 11 in Pathankot, 10 in Patiala, nine in Hoshiarpur, eight each in Fazilka and Muktsar, seven in Jalandhar, five in Kapurthala, four each in Faridkot and Gurdaspur, three in Barnala, two each in Fatehgarh Sahib and one each in Moga and Ferozepur.

Of total cases reported in the last 24 hours, 1,194 people were tested positve in Ludhiana, 697 in Jalandhar, 623 in Bathinda, 534 in Mohali, 491 in Patiala, 421 in Amritsar, 336 in Pathankot, 307 in Fazilka, 296 in Mansa, 258 in Gurdaspur, 254 in Muktsar, 240 in Sangrur, 223 in Hoshiarpur, 134 in Ferozepur, 160 in Ropar, 126 in Faridkot, 111 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 85 in Barnala, 69 in Tarn Taran, 66 in Moga and 64 in Nawanshahr.

Meanwhile, 30,757 persons were vaccinated across the state on Monday. Of the total, 20,870 eligible beneficiaries were given the first shot and 9,887 received their second dose.
