Bathinda: Punjab reported 49 farm fire cases on Sunday, taking the count to 9,718. Ferozepur turned out to be the worst-affected district with a maximum 918 crop residue burning cases till May 24, followed by 752 in Moga, 746 in Bathinda, 714 in Tarn Taran, 705 in Amritsar, 690 in Sangrur, 636 in Gurdaspur, 628 in Ludhiana, 537 in Muktsar, 415 in Fazilka and 412 in Patiala. On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh reported 161 farm fire cases in the day, Uttar Pradesh reported 50 and Haryana reported 10 crop residue burning cases on Sunday.As per the Punjab Pollution Control Board action taken report dashboard, 768 FIRs have been filed in Punjab by the evening of May 23. Out of these 768 FIRs, the maximum 208 FIRs have been filed in Moga district, followed by 154 in Amritsar.As per ‘Consortium for Research on Agroecosystem Monitoring and Modeling From Space' (CREAMS), MP has reported over 50% of the crop residue burning cases in the last five years.MSID:: 131293398 413 |
