Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav confirmed the arrest on Monday, stating that Tarn Taran Police nabbed Singh after he fled to India following a US crackdown on his network.

His arrest follows the February 26 operation in the US, where four of his associates—Amritpal Singh alias Amrit alias Bal, Amritpal Singh alias Cheema, Takdir Singh alias Romy, Sarbsit Singh alias Sabi, and Fernando Valladares alias Franco—were taken into custody.

During their arrests, US authorities seized 391 kg of methamphetamine, 109 kg of cocaine, and four firearms from their residences and vehicles.

After the bust, Singh absconded to India, where Punjab Police successfully tracked him down.

DGP Yadav emphasized that this operation reflects Punjab Police's zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking and organized crime.

"We remain committed to working with international law enforcement agencies to ensure that Punjab is not a safe haven for drug smugglers and criminals," Yadav said.
