Photojournalist thrashed in Panchkula

PANCHKULA: A

photojournalist

of an English daily was allegedly thrashed when he objected to a shopkeeper charging extra for

curd

at a sweet shop in Sector 25, police said on Saturday after registering a case.


The victim, in his complaint, said he went to Goyal Sweets for some snacks. When he purchased a pack of curd, the shopkeeper asked for Rs 18 instead of the printed price of Rs 16 on the pack. When he protested, the shopkeeper said the price of curd is this only across Ghaggar sectors. The photojournalist started making a video. The shopkeeper allegedly threatened the photojournalist if he did not turn his camera off. When he refused, the shopkeeper attempted to snatch his camera and allegedly held his shirt from his collar and pushed him back.
