CHANDIGARH: BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh on Sunday said while BJP is banking on nationalism and development, the divided Opposition is relying on questioning the bravery of Indian soldiers and martyrs.


Chugh was addressing a 'Vijay Jan Sabha' organised in the city by Chandigarh unit of BJP. The public gathering was organised as a prelude to BJP's series of 500 election rallies titled 'Vijay Sankalp Sabha' scheduled from April 24 to 26 to be held across the country.

Addressing the audience at the 'Vijay Sabha', Chugh said the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to its promise of 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas'.

Launching a frontal attack on Congress, Chugh said when the entire country was hailing the bold and timely decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to avenge the cowardly Pulwama attack by ordering air strikes on terror camps, Opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Navjot Sidhu, Kapil Sibbal, P Chidambaram, Manish Tewari, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamta Banerjee and Rahul's political mentor Sam Pitroda questioned the actions and valour of Indian security forces and echoed the false versions and stories floated by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Speaking on this occasion, state president Sanjay Tandon said the 'Vijay Sankalp Rally' was to take "an oath to make Modi Ji Prime Minister again".

On this occasion, MP Kiran Kher welcomed Tarun Chugh and highlighted the developments in the city beautiful during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tenure. She expressed pride in being chosen as the first MP from BJP in the city.

On this occasion, national executive member and former president, BJP, Punjab, Kamal Sharma called upon the party workers to spread the word on the achievements and the development plans in the city during BJP's tenure.
