Notice to Chandumajra for violation

a notice for violating the code of conduct. Election commissioner

Mohali

has issued the notice.


SDM Jagdeep Sehgal said that the notice has been issued to Chandumajra after

the office received a complaint that he was displaying political banner outside a government building. But after checking, it was observed that the political banner was displayed outside his residence. The inspecting team had asked for documentary proofs of permission taken to put up the political banner from the office of MP, which failed to give the necessary permits.

Hence the notice was issued, said the SDM, adding that “We will also charge them under Defacement Act.DM has been updated about the violation and Defacement Act will be imposed following the directions of the DM. Also the expenditure of this banner will be added to the party fund.”

According to the SDM, posters flaunting the pictures of politicians in

Mohali city

,

Zirakpur

,

Derabassi

and Kharar are in violation of the model code of conduct. Directions in this regard have been issued to MC Commissioner to get such posters and hoardings removed from the city. Repeated efforts to get in touch with Chandumajra to get his reaction were in vain.
