LoP: Basmati export curbs anti-farmer
Chandigarh: Claiming the temporary export curbs on basmati rice to be anti-farmer, Punjab’s leader of opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa on Wednesday requested the central government to reconsider its decision. The curbs apply to overseas shipments worth less than $1,200 a tonne. Exporters fear losing business if the minimum export price was above $850 a tonne. TNN
