A group of Sarv Khap (a group of caste clans from Haryana) met on Saturday and passed a resolution cautioning investigating agencies against treating the complainant (a woman who has accused a BJP minister of sexual harassment) unfairly. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Om Parkash Dhankar, an agriculture expert and leader of the Dhankar Khap. The participating representatives of the khaps passed the resolution in one voice, cautioning investigating agencies against calling the complainant to police station on the pretext of questioning. Khap leaders categorically said that if required, investigating officers or teams should contact the complainant at the place of her convenience, just as they did while questioning the accused, Sandeep. "We really fail to understand when the accused is being treated as a VIP and the complainant is being treated as an accused," said Dhankar. "The government should order a probe headed by or under supervision of Justice SN Dhingra Retd. And the entire probe should be done by any agency other than the Haryana Police."
