INLD loses yet another legislator to saffron party

CHANDIGARH: One more INLD MLA, Kehar Singh Rawat, joined BJP on Monday in presence of Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala and state in charge Anil Jain. Rawat represents Hathin assembly seat in Faridabad district. With this, Abhay Singh Chautala-led opposition party is left with just 10 legislators.

On Saturday, INLD MLA from Nalwa constituency in Hisar, Ranbir Singh Gangwa, had joined BJP.

In the 2014 state assembly polls, Rawat had defeated Harsh Kumar of BJP. He left the party just two days after INLD had written to Haryana assembly speaker seeking disqualification of all those legislators who had left the party and joined other outfits.

The INLD had won 19 seats in the 2014 assembly polls. One of its MLAs Nagender Bhadana from NIT in Faridabad has been supporting BJP since begining. Two of its MLAs Hari Chand Midha in

and Jaswinder Sandhu in Pehowa had died. Four MLAs, including Naina Chautala from Dabwali, Pirthi Nambardar from Narwana, Anoop Dhanak from Uklana and Rajdeep Phogat from Dadri, have joined Dushyant's Jannayak Janata Party.

INLD led by Abhay Singh has been in serious crisis after his elder brother Ajay Chautala and his son Dushyant Chautala formed a separate outfit.
