Ambala: Haryana energy minister Anil Vij has approved the creation of a new Machhonda sub-division in Ambala Cantonment to streamline power distribution, resolve billing errors, and accelerate grievance redressal. The administrative overhaul splits existing consumer loads, saving thousands of residents and local industrialists from travelling long distances for even basic electricity-related work.
The newly carved-out sub-division office will hold administrative jurisdiction over all geographic pockets situated on the Machhonda side of the busy Ambala-Delhi railway line. All official formalities required to establish the new boundary have already been completed.
The creation of the sub-division will benefit consumers across multiple localities, including Machhonda, Chandrapuri, Sundernagar, Shahpur, Shivala Mandi, Sai Ka Bagh, Gulab Mandi, Dudhla Mandi, Himmatpura, PNT Colony, Bara village, and several neighbouring rural fringes.
In tandem, minister Vij announced that construction on a dedicated electricity complaint centre in the Ambala Cantonment Industrial Area is nearly complete and will turn operational soon. The specialised hub will feature dedicated vehicles, permanent maintenance staff, billing desks, and rapid-response grievance logging software.
Once active, the new centre will let industrialists resolve all localised power faults within the industrial sector itself.
