Ambala: The executive body of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee held a virtual meeting on Saturday in which it dismissed two nominated members. HSGMC secretary Sarabjit Singh, later, gave their names as Apar Singh Kishangarh and Didar Singh Nalvi.
Asked why they had been sacked, Sarabjit Singh said: “Apar Singh Kishangarh was arrested with drugs by the Kurukshetra anti-narcotic cell. It is highly unfortunate and condemnable that a narcotic substance was seized from a member of the gurdwara body. The HSGMC executive has dismissed Apar Singh till he comes out clean from the inquiry.”
About the dismissal of Nalvi, a nominated member since 2014, Sarabjit said: “We had served him a notice for his misleading propaganda among the community of Haryana to break up the HSGMC in connivance with the Badal family. Nalvi did not give us a satisfactory reply, so we terminated his membership.” Those at the virtual meeting included HSGMC president Baljit Singh Daduwal, senior vice-president Karnail Singh Nimnabad, and others.
