Haryana man who celebrated Trump’s victory now burns his picture

Jind: A Kaithal resident who celebrated Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential elections by pasting his posters across the town, was on Thursday burning the latter's picture. Gurpreet Saini, who claims to be a member of the BJP, said he had believed that Indians in the US would get respect because it had been often stated in the media that Trump is friends with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Saini, who was joined by a couple of other people, said they were feeling cheated with the way Trump administration had treated illegal immigrants from the country. A poster put up by Saini in Kaithal, celebrating Trump's victory and having photos of Modi and CM Nayab Singh Saini, had earlier gone viral on social media. At the time, Saini had earned the moniker ‘Poster Boy' because of his hoarding. In all, of the 104 people deported from the US on Wednesday, 11 are from Kaithal. "These people spent Rs 40 lakh-Rs 50 lakh to chase their dream of going to America, but they were sent back with their hands cuffed and feet shackled, treated like terrorists. Even when they were brought back to India, they were still in handcuffs. This is wrong," he added.
