Haryana: Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda criticizes BJP-JJP coalition government

JIND: As a show of strength, former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda held a 'jan Milan samaroh' at SD school on Sunday in Jind district.


The leader of opposition accompanied by his Rajya Sabha MP son Deepender Hooda and several other MLAs gathered at political land of Haryana where launched multiple attacks on BJP-JJP coalition government.

"Congress is going to form next government in Haryana as a state which was known for better law and order situation, employment, education, industrial projects and other sectors, now has become number one in crime, unemployment and the present government failed to set up new projects in state. Hooda has said that the BJP-JJP government has deprived the youth of employment, MSP to the farmers, ration to the poor, pension to the elderly, reservation to the Dalits and backward classes, and protection to the citizens. Every section is troubled by the anti-people policies of this government, he said.

He said that Jind is the heart of Haryana and entire Haryana gets energy from Jind. “Today, thousands of people have strengthened Congress with their energy. Congress will dedicate this energy of the people to development and public service,” he said.

Hooda said that a big scam is being done in the name of registration in 'Meri Fasal, Mera Byora' portal. “The portal made village Badsikari Khurd of Kalayat disappear from the map of Haryana. The entire land of this village (more than 4,000) was registered in the name of other areas. Farmers are running from pillar to post to get this fraud of the government corrected. This scam happens to the farmers of Haryana every crop season,” he said. He said the portal has become a weapon to deprive farmers of MSP and compensation. “Today paddy is not being purchased in the markets. Bajra is being sold at Rs 500, 600, 700 per quintal below MSP. The brunt of the portals is also being borne by those farmers whose crops have been damaged. One and a half lakh farmers of Sirsa have been hit with a loss of Rs 40 crore. Premium was taken from the farmers, but crop insurance was not done because the portal was not running,” he said.

“Ration cards of 10 lakh poor people and pension of 5 lakh elderly people were cut off through family identity card. Lakhs of families of OBC category were denied reservation. This is the same PPP in which errors were found in 90% of cards. All anti-people portals will be abolished and the public will be given relief through PPP, Meri Fasal Mera Byora and Property ID, when the Congress government is formed,” he assured. On this occasion, Hooda also raised the issue of HCS-allied recruitment. He said only 61 candidates passed the main examination for 100 posts. The candidates allege that less people were deliberately passed to give appointment to their favorites HCS. This is the first time that less candidates have passed this recruitment than the total number of posts,” he said.

“The rule in HCS recruitment is that after the main examination, candidates equal to three times the total number of posts, are called for interview. That means 300 candidates should have been called for interview, but this time HPSC will call only 61 people, this is a violation of the rules,” he stated. “Media reports have also stated that out of the 61 candidates who passed, 44 percent of the candidates had roll numbers of the same series. 14 candidates of roll number 1500 series and 13 candidates of 1900 series have passed. This is the same recruitment in whose pre-exam 38 questions were copied from the previous recruitment paper. This clearly constitutes a case of indirect paper leak,” he added.

In response to the question on the issue of SYL in the press conference, the Leader of Opposition said that the issue of SYL is stuck till date due to the negative attitude of BJP and BJP-JJP government. “The Supreme Court had given a clear verdict in favor of Haryana in February 2017. After this, in July 2020, the Supreme Court gave clear instructions to Punjab, Haryana and Central Government, but the Haryana government kept wasting time by holding inconclusive meetings. Till now the role of BJP and BJP-JJP government has been negative in providing Haryana its rightful share of water,” he stated. Hooda also congratulated the entire country for winning more than 100 medals in the Asian Games and demanded that the medal winning players should be given full respect and rewards. “Under the ‘Padak Lao, Pad Pao’ policy, all players should be appointed to higher posts like DSP, Inspector. Hooda also paid tribute to Swaminathan and demanded the government to give MSP to the farmers on the C2 formula suggested by him.

State president Chaudhary Udaibhan said while there are still a few months left for the elections, but the people of the state have already made up their minds to vote for Congress. “Keeping in view the public sentiment, all the opponents including the ruling BJP-JJP have accepted defeat. The failure of programs of other parties and the historic public participation in Congress events makes it completely evident and clear,” he said
