Foswac to raise issues with Lok Sabha candidates
CHANDIGARH: Federation of Sector Welfare Associations (
Foswac spokesperson Pankaj Gupta while enlisting some of the problems said apart from the need of a hospital on the lines of PGI, the city also needs upgradation of infrastructure by having more flyovers and proper roads as the latter are in a deplorable state. He also added that the number of seats in engineering and health institutions need to be increased keeping in mind the increasing population. Requirement of new housing schemes and better sanitation were also focused upon.
President of the association Baljinder Singh Bittu while referring to the 60-point manifesto of the Congress and BJP said not even a single issue had been resolved as promised by the parties since the past five years. He said RWAs will be asked to pool in their suggestions which will further be discussed with the candidates during the association's monthly meeting in April.
Members also pointed out that they will raise the issue about why the city MP did not object to projects like construction of underpass between Sector 17 and Rose Garden, and multi-level parking, both of which are of no use to the residents.
