Ferozepur man strangles wife to death

FEROZEPUR: A man has been arrested for allegedly strangling his wife to death in Kussu Wala Mor village of Ferozepur's Makhu over suspicion of an extra-marital affair, police said on Friday.

Complainant Paramjit Kaur of Ludhiana told the police that her daughter Usha Rani, 28, had married Bhajan Singh about seven years ago. "The couple also had two children. Bhajan was suspicious of Usha's character and fought with her on Thursday night. In a fit of rage, he strangled Usha to death," she alleged.

Sub-inspector Manjit Singh said the police had arrested the accused on the basis of the complainant's statement and registered a murder case against Bhajan Singh.
