Empower daughters with edu, says Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatraya
During the event, the governor flagged off e-rickshaws provided by the department to 11 women of Antyodaya families. On this occasion, women from various fields were honoured with appreciation letters, cash and mementos. He highlighted the government's numerous programmes for women, including the significant Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign. He urged every woman to pledge not to hesitate in giving birth to a daughter, regardless of any societal or familial challenges.
During the programme, the governor awarded Rs 5 lakh as the first prize to Palwal deputy commissioner Neha Singh for achieving remarkable improvement in sex ratio in the year 2023. The second prize, jointly awarded, went to Faridabad deputy commissioner Vikram and Rewari DC Rahul Hooda, who also received Rs 3 lakh each. Deputy commissioner Kurukshetra Shantanu Sharma was awarded the third prize, along with an amount of Rs 2 lakh.
In recognition of their efforts in improving the nutritional status of children, Faridabad deputy commissioner Vikram was awarded the first place. Deputy commissioner Kaithal Prashant Panwar secured the second position, while deputy commissioner Panipat was awarded the third place. They received award money of Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1 lakh, and Rs 50,000 respectively.

On International Women's Day, the Congress criticized the Modi government for not addressing issues such as the situation in Manipur and allegations of sexual harassment by women wrestlers against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh raised questions about the Prime Minister's silence on these matters.

The AutHer Awards, a collaboration between JK Paper and The Times of India, celebrates Indian women writers. The longlists for various categories were announced, and the winners will be awarded in New Delhi on March 17, 2024.
