Drunk man held for assaulting cop

Chandigarh: The UT police have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly assaulting and obstructing an assistant sub-inspector of Sector 11 police station in discharge of his duties at night food street in Sector 14. In his complaint, ASI Joginder Singh said when he, along with other cops, was returning to the police post, the ‘drunk’ accused, Rahul Sidhu of Jind, Haryana, started creating nuisance. The PCR took him to the police station where he allegedly assaulted the ASI and a woman constable. The incident has been recorded on the CCTV, the cop said.
